Alcoholics Anonymous, AA, has been a source of help for over 80 years.
As a result of AA's unique approach it has no public relations nor promotion department.
AA literature puts it this way, "Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion".
When people hit their bottom they usually find their way into the rooms of AA.
The program is varied offering everything from traditional AA meetings to agnostic/atheist meetings. It is a big tent, and the only requirement for membership is a desire to quit drinking.
Our group is made up generally of agnostics and atheists, we may be a good fit for you but we may not. We encourage you to try a number of meetings at different groups. Finding a group you can identify with is essential for recovery.

You certainly need no insurance, it is completely free. There isn't a need to contribute to the basket as it is passed and the rooms are full of people who, just like you, have had a struggle quitting but found success and joy in sobriety. It is possible!
Lastly, AA's Co-Founder, Dr. Bob had this to say at the first AA convention in 1950 -
"Our Twelve Steps, when simmered down to the last, resolve themselves into the words “love” and “service.” We understand what love is, and we understand what service is. So let's bear those two things in mind."
